In the Bible, or holy book of Christianity, there are several prophesies that exist with the Old Testament of the Bible that foretell the life of Jesus Christ. Here are a few of our favorites.
“Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.”
In Matthew 11:4-5 in the Old Testament a story foretells of the a joy that is arises when the son of God comes to save the people of the Lord. These stories recount the miracles that were performed during Jesus’s time as he traveled and proclaimed the word of the Lord.
“Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying ‘Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
In Matthew 26:27-28 is the time where Jesus had the last supper with his disciples. This covenant made with his worshippers is celebrated during the end of many Christian masses, replicated over thin wafers and wine to represent the body and blood of Christ. This part of the Old Testament foretells a moment of promises made to the people as a new covenant. The last covenant made with the lord was after a flood on the world, and shown to Noah as a rainbow.
“He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.”
In John 1:11 it was foretold in the Old Testament that those closest to the messiah would reject him. Many of his disciples didn’t want to believe that this would be true, but in the days of his crucification many turned away from the lord and denied their relationship with Jesus Christ.
